Full Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Burns Nurse to provide specialized care to patients with burn
injuries. Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patients, performing wound care and dressing
changes, managing pain, and assisting in the rehabilitation process. The Burns Nurse will collaborate with a
multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, educate patients and families on wound management,
and support recovery goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in burn treatment, strong attention to
detail, and the ability to provide emotional support to patients during their recovery journey.

Responsibilities:
 Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of burn injuries.
 Monitor vital signs and report any signs of infection or complications.
 Perform wound cleaning and dressing changes, ensuring infection control.
 Use specialized techniques for burn wound management.
 Administer and monitor the effectiveness of pain medications.
 Provide comfort measures and educate patients on pain management.
 Educate on wound care, scar management, and home care procedures.
 Advise on nutrition, hydration, and mobility to aid recovery.
 Work with a multidisciplinary team to create and follow a treatment plan.
 Participate in case reviews and coordinate patient care.
 Offer emotional support to patients and families.
 Assist in rehabilitation exercises and mobility training.
 Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes.
 Ensure compliance with hospital documentation policies.
