Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced ICU-Consultant to provide expert care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The role involves managing critically ill patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the advancement of critical care practices through research and education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Provide direct patient care for critically ill patients, including performing physical examinations,
developing treatment plans, and managing life-support interventions.
● Perform specialized procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central line placement, and
advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
● Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds, collaborating with intensivists, nurses, pharmacists, and other
specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
● Evaluate and manage complex ICU cases, ensuring evidence-based practices are implemented in
patient care.
● Develop and implement protocols for ICU care, including infection control, sedation
management, and ventilator weaning.
● Stay updated with advancements in critical care medicine and incorporate them into clinical
practice.
● Conduct medication reviews to identify and mitigate potential drug interactions and
complications in ICU patients.
● Mentor and train medical staff, including residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals,
on ICU best practices and new advancements.
● Participate in clinical research projects focused on critical care medicine, contributing to the
development of innovative treatment modalities.
● Ensure compliance with local and international ICU care standards and protocols.
● Provide consultation and support for other hospital departments managing critically ill patients.
Minimum Requirements:
● Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with specialized training in Intensive Care Medicine or
Critical Care Medicine.
● Subspecialty certification in Critical Care or ICU Medicine from a recognized authority.
● A minimum of 2 years of post-board certification experience in critical care settings.
● Demonstrated expertise in managing a wide range of critical care conditions and performing
advanced ICU procedures.
● Proven experience in training and mentoring healthcare professionals.
● Strong commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
● Eligibility to obtain an MOH license or equivalent licensing in the region.
