Full Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join our team in the Theatre Anaesthetics department.

Duties of the Role:

  • Deliver safe, quality care for patients during their perioperative phase of care. Support and assist in managing and organizing care provision within the Operating Department.
  • Lead and manage a team, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements within a perioperative function or surgical specialty.
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
  • Apply and promote best evidence-based practice within the scope of practice.
  • Correctly apply legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken for the safety of patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff, and contractors.
  • Achieve agreed objectives while demonstrating CHG behaviors at all times.
  • Assemble, check, and prepare appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
