Full Job Description
We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join our team in the Theatre Department.
Duties of the Role:
- Deliver safe, high-quality care for patients during their perioperative phase. Support and assist in the management and organization of care provision within the Operating Department.
- Lead and manage a team, coordinating staff training needs and resource requirements within a perioperative function or surgical specialty.
- Assist in the delivery of patient care.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self.
- Apply and promote best evidence-based practices within the scope of practice.
- Adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken for the safety of patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff, and contractors.
- Achieve agreed objectives while demonstrating CHG behaviors at all times.
- Assemble, check, and prepare the appropriate surgical equipment, instruments, and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
What We Require:
- Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in coordination, ordering, first assistance, mentorship, and leading others.
- First Surgical Assistant Certificate.
- Additional skills in recovery and anaesthetics.
- ILS certification.
- Mentorship qualification.
- Maths and English GCSE (Grades A to C) or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2.
- Proficiency in using PCs and software systems.
- Experience in customer care, including interactions with customers in challenging situations.
- The department requires a skilled and experienced practitioner.
