Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Department. This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) with flexible shift patterns.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmaceutical expertise and input into patient care within a CHG hospital.
  • Support the pharmacy department in delivering an excellent medicine management service to all customers.
  • Supervise procurement, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines.
  • Oversee junior staff members in the delivery of medicine management services and take responsibility for specialist clinical services as required.
  • Ensure the daily operations of the pharmacy department run safely and efficiently.
  • Provide clinical input regarding medicines for all patients.
  • Ensure accurate and timely charging of medications.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, professional, and best practice frameworks.

What We Require:

  • Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm, BSc, or BPharm).
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Knowledge of General Pharmaceutical Council Codes of Professional Conduct, Ethics, and Performance and their implications in practice.
  • Postgraduate clinical diploma in clinical pharmacy (hospital) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of registration and 2 years within a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Care and Quality Commission (CQC) requirements.
  • GCSE Maths & English (Grades A to C) or equivalent functional skills Level 2 evidence.
