Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join our Theatre Department team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, high-quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase.
  • Support, coordinate, and assist in the management and organization of care within the Operating Department.
  • Ensure quality planned care for patients by leading a team that delivers effective clinical and managerial leadership.
  • Lead patient care during assigned surgical lists or specified periods.
  • Ensure patient safety checks are conducted according to policy, ensuring adherence by all practitioners.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of both self and team members.
  • Promote best evidence-based practices within own scope of practice.
  • Apply legislation, policies, and procedures accurately.
  • Achieve agreed objectives while demonstrating CHG behaviors at all times.

What We Require:

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to specialty (e.g., Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant Qualification [for scrub leads]).
  • ENB 998 and/or Mentorship Course.
  • Approved/Recognized Anaesthetic Course.
  • Immediate Life Support (ILS) Certification.
  • Orthopaedic Skills.
  • Mentorship Qualification.
  • ILM Level 3.
  • Previous experience in an acute healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience managing and leading a clinical team.
